Kelly Business Consultants, Inc., aka KBC, is a Missouri company incorporated in 1994. Mr. James Kelly started full time construction auditing and consulting in May 1995. Their founder and President is James E. Kelly. In 1971 he graduated with an MBA from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. His undergraduate degree is a BSBA from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a Certified Internal Auditor, CIA, and past president of the St. Louis Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He has more than 35 years audit experience including 14 years working for Ralston Purina and three years experience auditing for British Petroleum.
John E. Humphries is the Audit Manager with more than 10 years experience with KBC. He is a CPA and earned a BS in Business from Southwest Missouri State University. He has more than 25 years experience in auditing and financial management. Using our 50 plus years auditing experience, mostly in construction, we can serve as an adjunct to your staff. Whether your organization has in-house project managers, engineers, accountants and internal auditors or you have an owners representative to manage construction, they can and do make a worthwhile financial contribution to the bottom line. They analyze and evaluate Requests for Proposals, Contractor Proposals, Bid Packages, Construction Contracts/Exhibits, field reports/tests and to identify weakness and make recommendations to strengthen cost control language or they will audit construction procedures and processes.
